PES sells in Europe most and it's usually associated with the playstation brand console.
If I had to make the choice on the $399. I would go with blu ray also. I just think people have to know that this plays High Defintion movies.
It's the only thing that really seperates them from XBOX 360 right now.

If people cared about Blu ray, this is a monster deal. Blu ray player for $199, PS3 for $199. It's ridiculous how good a deal this is.
But it only matters if people pick up on Blu ray. So far they haven't really.
I think having all these different sku's give average results. I think it will help somewhat. Both the XBOX elite and XBOX premuim sell.
But they should of just not f*cked around so much and made the 60GB $399, the end. All this sku juggling is not gonna work as good.

$399 PS3 plus Spider-man. Reports say Blu ray is winning easily everywhere around the world, the only place it's close is in the United States, where again most reports say Blu ray is still winning.

I think the best thing Sony could do is just price the PS3 to match the XBOX 360 all around the world and see what happends this year and next year and everything.
Match the XBOX 360 price point. That's would be the best thing to do. If Mirosoft drops price again, match it.

I don't think it's gonna take over XBOX 360 suddenly, but it's a step in the right direction to get more competitive.
Sony is tying but the fact remains these sku's are still higher priced than the XBOX 360.
They need a Price Cut in Europe, they got one. Hopefully they keep the price good there after the 60GB is sold out. I'm sure 80GB will get a cut.
They need a Price Drop in Japan, there is more demand there for PS3 than 360 so it should help somewhat.

To me personally, I didn't care since I was buying a PS3 for PS3 games.
BC is good but if your planning on PS2 games to carry you, then it's not a good sign either way.

Why they are ignorning that PS3 outsold XBOX 360 in Japan despite the Elite lauching, and according to VG charts they were also outsold in Europe by a healthy margin following the PS3 price drop.
All this only weeks after the release of their biggest system seller. That would concern me a little bit to be honest.

I wouldn't, especially when projected sales did indicate they got outsold in both Japan and Europe last week, only weeks after Halo 3 was released.
